Looking for a rich, creamy, and indulgent dessert that’s not only delicious but also dairy free and healthy? You would never believe that this Avocado Chocolate Mousse is completely plant-based! This is probably one of my absolute favourite desserts, even more so as this mousse is so ridiculously easy and quick to make.
It the perfect sweet treat to satisfy your chocolate cravings without any dairy or refined sugars. Packed with healthy fats from avocado, it’s a creamy, chocolatey delight that’s surprisingly simple to make- you only need a few simple ingredients and about 10 minutes of prep time to whip up this indulgent dessert!
Ingredients
- Avocados– Avocados are a great source of heart-healthy fats, and various vitamins and minerals, and is the star ingredient in this mousse, providing a rich, smooth consistency without the need for dairy.
- Maple syrup– Maple syrup works so well as a sweetner in this as it has a caramel-like flavour which complements the chocolate.
- Cocoa powder-Using high-quality, unsweetened cocoa powder ensures that the mousse has a deep, true chocolate flavour
- Plant-based milk– helps achieve the mousse’s smooth and creamy consistency. Almond, oat or soy milks all work well
- Coconut cream– adds to the creamy, velvety texture this mousse.If you don’t have coconut cream, you can use full-fat coconut milk and use less plant-based milk
- Vanilla essence-A splash of vanilla extract adds a warm, aromatic sweetness.
- Optional toppings– Grated dark chocolate, oat or soy cream, berries such as raspberries or strawberries for extra indulgence!

Ingredients
- Flesh of 2 medium or 3 small avocados (ripe)
- ⅓ cup Maple syrup
- ½ cup Cocoa powder
- ¼ cup plant-based milk
- ¼ cup Coconut cream
- 1 ½ teaspoon Vanilla essence
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Place avocados, maple syrup, plant-based milk, coconut cream, vanilla essence in blender. Blend well until mixture smooth
- Scoop into small bowls. Chill in fridge 30mins.
- Optional: serve with strawberries/ raspberries, grated dark chocolate and plant-based cream.
